How i take screenshot of my desktop?

i want to show a screenshot of my desktop so that i can show my friends the payment i receive this week ,when i refer them!!!

So now how do i do that? :-P

there should be "prt Sc"-button somewhere on you keyboard.
press that, and then just paste the picture in some photo editing software (paint, etc).
