[Suggestion]

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. (Please tell me if this is indeed in the wrong section.)


I would like to suggest that you ban Mac addresses rather then IP addresses.

(Every single computer is given a Mac Address and it is Extremely hard to change a Mac Address without allot of knowledge of computer programing or a program designed to do so.)

Yea ... but it would be better to ban the range of ip rather than MAC because its not easy finding out the Mac address (I guess :-? )

No not really, you can install a add-on to the forum the records the posters IP and Mac address.

(We use it on the forums at animadness.net)

Thanks for the help Darko, but as far as I know MAC addresses are burned in your network card, and are not passed through HTTP sessions.

If you can share some more information regarding this issue we'll be happy to check it out, please do elaborate and shed some light on this issue. (please send me a PM)

i am 80% sure that mac info is only show in intranet (lan) protocols like ethernet or 802.11 WIFI, so you cant know the mac addres of your users in http or internet.
I am studing network administration :D
